The Great Limavady Bake Off!
Primary 1 have been having fun this half term learning about the 'Story of Bread'. We read the story of the Little Red Hen, and we found out about how the farmer harvests the wheat and sends it to be ground into flour.
Mrs Smith's class decided to have a go at making their own bread rolls today. First we mixed the flour, yeast and water into a very gooey dough. Next we left the dough beside the radiator to rise - it almost rose out of the bowl! Then came the fun part - we all had a turn at kneading the dough and shaping our bread rolls. As you can see it was quite a messy job!
We left our rolls to rise again, then put them into a hot oven to bake. After 20 minutes the rolls were baked perfectly, and we all enjoyed the warm, fresh, delicious bread. We're not sure if we'd win any prizes from Paul Hollywood but the whole class thought our bread was amazing!
