Our World Around Us topic this term is ‘The Great Famine in Ireland.’ We have been using this to inspire our artwork too.
Here we are busy sketching and painting art inspired by the work of Irish artist, Markey Robinson.
This work shows how Ireland looked just before the famine. It shows potato pickers, small homesteads and villages with whitewashed cottages and stone walls.
We even listened to some Irish music as we worked. Look at our concentration!
