Snowy Lands in Primary 1
This term we have been learning all about Snowy Lands. We've been having fun dressing up as Polar explorers and finding out about the different animals who live in the Arctic and Antarctic. We've been playing with shaving foam snow, sparkly snow dough and even making our own snow out of cornflour and baby oil - as you can see it can get a little bit messy!
We've been building hideouts and igloos for our animals using big blocks and white sheets and creating amazing snowy art with sponge paint pictures and 'fold and cut' snowflakes.
We really enjoyed investigating ice eggs - we put some polar animals into balloons, then filled the balloons with water and put them in the freezer. We had fun trying to get our animals out - we found out that warm water melted the ice and set our animals free!
