P1 Visit from the Coastal Core Ambulance
There was great excitement today in Primary 1 when Alistair from Coastal Core arrived in his amazing ambulance! We have been learning about different rescue vehicles in our topic 'Off We Go... to the Rescue' so we were so excited to get the chance to see inside a real ambulance.
Alistair told us about all the equipment that the paramedics use. We saw the stretcher which can be wheeled down the ramp and out of the ambulance. There were lots of cupboards full of bandages and plasters to help treat injuries. We even saw a special yellow stretcher called a scoop which can be used to lift people who have had an accident during a sports match.
Our favourite part of the visit was hearing the siren and watching the blue lights flash - it was so exciting to imagine the ambulance on the way to an emergency!
Many thanks to Alistair from Coastal Core for coming to talk to our Primary 1 children and giving them such an exciting experience!
