This week we have been figuring out different ways of manipulating decimal numbers.
Here you can see that we worked out how to represent tenths, hundredths and thousandths, using counters.
We used our charts to figure out how to multiply and divide decimal numbers by 10, 100 and 1,000.
We also converted our decimal numbers into different types of fractions.
In our school we use the Concrete Pictorial Abstract (CPA) approach, which helps us to gain a deeper understanding of topics, using concrete materials to begin with.
Maths doesn’t have to be boring - we can learn and have fun at the same time!
