Brilliant Bridge Builders in Primary 1
As part of Science Week 2023 we have been finding out how to build bridges. We learned that there are different types of bridges such as beam bridges and arch bridges. We had a go at building bridges using different materials in our classroom.
We used building blocks such as lego to create arch bridges - it was tricky but we managed to layer blocks underneath to support our bridges.
We also made beam bridges using paper. We folded the paper to make it stronger, then put tape on to make sure the paper didn't open up again! We used blocks, books and even tables to make the support pillars!
Finally we tested out our bridges using toy pets - we were really impressed at how strong our bridges were! Click through the photos to see our extraordinary engineering and brilliant bridge-building!
