Amazing Arctic Artwork!
Primary 1 have been very busy this half term creating some amazing artwork for our Snowy Lands topic. Check out the photos to see our creative crafting!
We loved sponging white paint onto black backgrounds to create some polar animal print pictures.
Next we headed south to Antarctica to produce some fantastic 'footprint' penguins. First we drew around our feet, then cut out the shape to make the penguin's body. Once we added eyes, beaks, feet and wings, our penguins were ready to strike a perfect pose on our painted snowy backgrounds!
Making cut and fold snowflakes has been very popular during 'Learning through Play'. We were great at folding a circle of paper to make a quarter circle - or 'pizza' shape! Next we snipped the paper to make lots of different-shaped cuts. When we unfolded the paper we were delighted by the beautiful snowflakes we had created; each one different - just like real snowflakes!
